In this project for the City of Hickory, North Carolina, Frazier Associates designed a comprehensive wayfinding program as well as a new logo for the City to be used in all of their printed materials. The design process began with a data gathering phase that included community input on colors, icons, and images that convey the image and character of the community. After interviewing over sixty individuals and conducting research, Frazier Associates presented six options to the Task Group. Two options were chosen and put out to the greater community for a vote. To help the community visualize the new logo, collateral materials were developed. The new logo has been incorporated in their website, and other publications and signage throughout town.
After the logo design was chosen, a comprehensive wayfinding sign system was developed and documents prepared for bid, fabrication, and installation.
