Historic Preservation Consultants

Protecting Character and Community

Historic buildings, districts, and communities of all sizes are the physical imprint of those who came before us. They represent the dreams and aspirations of earlier generations and reflect the development of a site or community. As historic preservation consultants since its founding in 1986, Frazier Associates’ team of historic architects, planners and architectural historians has fostered a preservation ethic as a civic responsibility to retain the best of each community’s past for the benefit of future generations.

Our firm specializes in historic preservation, contextual architectural design, and community revitalization. The 10-person office is headed by Kathy and Bill Frazier, a historical architect, and an architectural historian/planner respectively. The firm has over thirty years of public and private sector experience in historic architecture, revitalization, and historic preservation consulting and planning. Staff members meet the U. S. Department of the Interior requirements of as historical architects and architectural historians. As individual projects warrant, the firm may augment its in-house team with additional historic preservation specialists such as archaeologists, civil, mechanical and structural engineers, dendrochronology experts, material conservators, and materials testing or environmental firms.
