Increasingly, communities recognize the link between the appearance of their major entrance corridors and their overall image.  Many of these thoroughfares were developed in earlier eras without much concern for an overall vision or an attractive appearance.  As other sectors of the locality are redeveloped, there is an opportunity to upgrade these aging auto corridors as well.

Frazier Associates has created several sets of community corridor design guidelines that were customized for each corridor’s unique existing conditions.  In Virginia, an architectural review board may be created to review projects on any corridor that leads to a historic district.  In that regard, we have worked with existing historic review boards, planning commissions, and new entities that are created to administer these reviews.
