Lexington, Va

Frazier Associates was retained by the city of Lexington to work with Glen Reynolds, AIA on the design of a new 18,000 square foot facility for the Lexington Fire Department. Occupying a small but prominent location on a major entry corridor, the station was subject to a stringent design review process to satisfy the architectural review board and adjacent residential property owners. Frazier Associates’ role included exterior design to make this utilitarian building fit the scale and character of Lexington’s historic architecture. The final design is reminiscent of earlier firehouses and includes arches, a bell tower, and two colors of brick to articulate details.
