Martinsville, Va
Martinsville is a vibrant, small, Southside Virginia community that has focused for a number of years on downtown renewal. Conducted in partnership with LPDA, this revitalization plan was submitted to support a CDBG/CIG grant for the Fayette Street area. Included were cost estimates and facade improvement drawings for several buildings in the blighted area.
Subsequent to the plan, Frazier Associates worked with the Town to create designs for the Church Street Plaza which features a monumental chair representative of the area’s deep roots in the furniture industry. A private property owner also retained the firm to undertake a feasibility study and create a schematic design that turns an abandoned warehouse into a multi-use development.
