Loudoun County, Va

Goose Creek is located in central Loudoun County and consists of nearly 12,000 acres. It is one of Virginia’s few rural districts that are protected by architectural review. The area was originally settled by Quakers and many of the vernacular structures were built of stone. The unspoiled rural setting, coupled with historic farm buildings, creates a unique and large district.

Frazier Associates worked closely with County staff, the Historic District Review Committee, and the public in several workshops to develop these guidelines.   Various site patterns of historic farm buildings were studied to guide the design of new development in the district. 3-D graphics help communicate the proper design and placement of buildings. These guidelines are part of a set of three that were created for Loudoun’s other historic districts.
