This two-story, timber frame barn was built in the mid-nineteenth century as a horse stable for a country home. Frazier Associates was asked to create a usable, modern barn for two horses while maintaining as much historic fabric as possible. Design challenges included providing a functional and safe space for the horses and a loft office for the owner while maintaining the architectural character of the original building. Rehabilitation of the barn involved raising the entire structure to allow for a new foundation and much needed head height for the horses.
