Charlottesville, Va
Charlottesville’s physical qualities relate directly to its livability and its current status as a world-class small city. The local government encourages quality development that will provide new vitality while enhancing the community’s traditional strengths. From redeveloping corridors to preserving historic areas, the city seeks to meld the best of the old with exciting contemporary design.
Since 1994, Frazier Associates has completed various design guidelines’ projects for the City. These have ranged from historic districts to the downtown and the West Main Street Corridor. Most recently new guidelines were completed for the twelve major entry corridors and earlier projects were updated and expanded. All of these projects are based on general design concepts that came out of the Comprehensive Plan Principles and the City’s Vision Statement. http://www.charlottesville.org/departments-and-services/departments-h-z/neighborhood-development-services/development-ordinances/entrance-corridor-review-board-erb
