While the state line runs right down the middle of Main Street, the City of Bristol, Virginia and its twin, Bristol, Tennessee, offer seamless historic charm, amenities and activities for both residents and visitors. Bristol, Virginia and Believe in Bristol, its downtown organization, recently installed new wayfinding signs with the assistance of a Virginia Main Street Downtown Investment Grant. The new unified wayfinding signs improve downtown navigation for both visitors and residents to key attractions such as downtown merchants, hotels, and restaurants, and the famed Birthplace of Country Music Museum.
Frazier Associates provided wayfinding services through the Virginia Main Street program for the design of gateway, trailblazer, pedestrian, parking and directional signs. The design for the sign system was inspired by the historic 1915 lighted arch sign located on Main Street that spans the border of Virginia and Tennessee.
